A Fantastic Pizza House

Not far from the center of Kasugai city, there is an Italian restaurant,
"Pinokio" built of red brick and white plaster located in a residential spot.
It looks exotic, with the big face of the folk tale character 'Pinokio'smilingat you from on top of the roof.
Upon entering the restaurant, you feel as if you were in Italy, with Italian music playing in the background.

The restaurant serves a wide variety of pizzas, spaghetti, lasagna, gratin and other Italian dishes.
When Pinokio was built twenty-five years ago, it was said to be very eccentric.
Many of the young people who went there when it first opened,
have continued going there ever since and they are regular customers.

The owner and chef, Mr. Sagioka studied Italian cooking for several years
at a famous Italian restaurant in Kobe before opening Pinokio which he designed himself.
He carefully selects his ingredients and periodically teaches a class at the community center
on how to cook pizza at home using available ingredients.
His classes are always full. The most popular item on the menu is pizza which is cooked
in a huge imported oven from Italy.

Mr. Sagioka mixes several kinds of cheese to get a very milky, rich flavor.
The harmony of it with his original, spicy pizza sauce is beyond description.
The pizzas come in three sizes and we can choose from a whopping thirty five varieties.
The pizza pie crust gives us another taste sensation. It is so crunchy and tasty that people cannot forget it.
The price ranges from \800 for a small about 20cm to \1200 for the large which is 30cm.

The restaurant offers a variety of Italian red wine, such as Chianti, and Holstein,
a German beer which we cannot find in other restaurants.
Unfortunately, because of the popularity of red wine these days,
we can no longer order a bottle, but only by the glass.
They also serve lemon squash using whole lemons, and Italian chocolate which children really enjoy.
On the second floor there is a big room which can accommodate parties of up to thirty people.
Full-course sets are available if booked in advance.
